The persons who will drop waste in public places in Chisinau will be fiend. The fine for private individuals will be 900 to 1,800 lei or 20 to 60 hours of community service, while for legal entities – 3,000 to 9,000 lei, IPN reports.

“I ordered that boards announcing the fines for littering should be placed at the entrance to parks and squares in all the districts of the city. It is the duty of each citizen to clean up in front of the house and to keep the streets, parks and other public places clean. The municipal services, for their part, will place more garbage bins,” Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban posted on Facebook.

On July 23, the Chisinau Municipal Council approved the regulations concerning the cleanup and ensuring of cleanness in Chisinau.

The fines will be imposed by the police and officials in charge of the district head’s offices.
