The persons who want to replace the family doctor have time to do this until October 31. They must file an application whose form is available free at medical-sanitary institutions. The application model was set by the National Health Insurance Company, IPN reports.

The medical institution can be changed only once a year, in September – October. The replacement of the family doctor in another period of the year is possible only if the person changes the place of residence to another village or to a different district of Chisinau municipality for example.

The family doctor can be changed without the person’s consent only when the family doctor is dismissed, transferred to another medical institution or dies. If the person finds out that they were transferred to another family doctor at the same medical institution without their consent, they can submit an application/complaint to the manager of the given institution and ask dealing with this problem.

If the person is transferred to a family doctor from another medical institution without their consent, they can ask the local office of the National Health Insurance Company to solve this problem. When the persons have a family doctor, they do not need to write applications every year.
