A birdwatching tour to follow birds in the natural environment will be held in the Park “Valea Morilor” on March 31 on the occasion of the International Bird Day. All those who are fond of birds and love nature are invited to take part in the event. The participants will be provided with telescopes, binoculars and specialty books.
Ornithologist Silvia Ursu, a founding member of the Society for the Protection of Birds and Nature, has told IPN that the event is staged the fourth year in a row. The tour last for up to an hour and the goal is to familiarize the participants with as many facts as possible about the birds met in Moldova.
According to Silvia Ursu, about 25 bird species can be seen in the Park “Valea Morilor”, including singing birds that can be met in woods, such as tomtits, sparrows, doves and woodpeckers. On the lake of the park, one can see such aquatic birds as ducks, common terns and divers.
Those who are curious and eager to learn more about birds are invited to come to the Cascade Stairs at 10am.
