A car with four men on board overturned on the road between Ciuflesti village of Causeni district and Batir of Cimislia yesterday evening, close to midnight. A passenger aged 30 died on the spot, IPN reports.

According to prosecution officer of the Causeni Police Inspectorate Sergiu Boran, the driver aged 43 was under the influence of alcohol. He suffered minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital this morning.

Another two passengers aged 24 and 37 are still in the hospital. The 24-year-old man, who was diagnosed with brain injury, was transported to Chisinau. The four men are from Batir.

Sergiu Boran said the car skidded off the road and overturned into a ditch. If the driver is found guilty, he will serve four to eight years in jail and will be disqualified from driving for a period of four to five years.
