The Discipline and Ethics Board of the Superior Council of Prosecutors in 2023 dealt with 30 disciplinary proceedings instituted against 24 prosecutors. As a result, four state prosecutors were warned, two were reprimanded, while one prosecutor was dismissed. The progress report of the Discipline Board was examined on Tuesday by the Superior Council of Prosecutors, IPN reports.
The Board’s head Vladislav Guțan said that out of the 30 disciplinary proceedings, 12 are overdue since 2022, while 18 were initiated in 2023. Of the 24 prosecutors concerned, two are from the Prosecutor General’s Office, while four are from the Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office. Another 14 state prosecutors are from territorial prosecutor’s offices, three are from the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, while one prosecutor is from the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
The initiated proceedings feature three administrative prosecutors. “As an end result, the Board dropped two disciplinary cases, while one case is pending at this time. They referred to illicit enrichment,” stated Vladislav Guțan.
