Thirty legal entities were included in the Public Register of Providers of Electronic Communications Networks and Services in the first half of this year. On July 1, 2014, the number of those authorized to work on this market came to 529, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology.
Of the 30 providers included in the register, 22 are new entities that entered the market, 8 are former holders of technical licenses allowing working in the telecommunications sector, obtained before 2008 in accordance with the Telecommunications Law that was in force at that time. Thirteen providers in the period were struck off the register for the reason that they didn’t perform activities in this area.
Most of the 529 providers written in the Register of Providers of Electronic Communications Networks and Services can provide both public electronic communications services and networks. 390 providers were authorized to furnish ground networks at fixed points, 221 - Internet access services, 206 – broadcasting services, 158 – data transfer services, 134 – telephone services, while 82 – rented lines services.
The general authorization procedure is free, while the right to provide electronic communications services and networks is granted for a limited period.
