Third swine flu death reported in Moldova
The Moldovan Health Ministry reported the third casualty caused by the A(H1N1) virus on Saturday.
The victim, a 46-year-old man from Ceadyr-Lunga, returned from Moscow on October 21 and, despite developing visible flu symptoms, sought admission to hospital just on November 4, when his condition became severe. On admission, he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. Three days later, the man died in the intensive care unit.
Other 34 cases of pandemic flu infections were reported on Saturday, adding to the 61 cases reported on the preceding night. As of 4:00PM on Saturday there were confirmed 208 out of 447 suspect cases.
Three H1N1 casualties – all men, ages 35 to 50 – have been reported so far in Moldova.
