Third International Festival “Amber Grape” opens

The third International Festival of Piano Duets “Amber Grape” opens at the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” on October 7, starting at 7pm, IPN reports.

The music lovers will hear works from the repertoire of the Moldovan piano duet Anatolie Lapicus and Iurie Mahovici, who founded the festival. The performance also involves soloists Tatiana Costiuc (soprano), Victoria Luncasu-Popovschi (mezzo-soprano), Andrei Otean (baritone), and the National Chamber Choir managed by Ilona Stepan.

On October 9, the duets Edward and Anna-Luiza Turgeon (U.S.) and Natalia Gromova and Valery Borovikov (Belarus) will perform works from the universal repertoire.
 
On October 11, there will perform again the two mentioned duets and the Moldovan duet Anatolie Lapicus and Iurie Mahovici as well as soprano Lilia Sholomei.

For the first time this year, the festival will take place in Transnistria too. On October 12, artists Maksim and Semen Lavrinenko from Tiraspol and the duets Natalia Gromova and Valery Borovikov and Anatolie Lapicus and Iurie Mahovici as well as soloist Lilia Sholomei will give a performance in Tiraspol.

National Philharmonic director Svetlana Bivol told a news conference that Anatolie Lapicus and Iurie Mahovici this year will mark the 20th anniversary of the creation of the duet.

Ticket prices vary between 30 and 50 lei.
