The heaviest snow fell last night in the central and southern districts of Moldova. The layer of snow here measures 5 to 57 cm, being the thickets in Chisinau.
Contacted by IPN, Natalia Golub, forecaster of the State Hydrometeorological Service, said no snow fell in the northern districts of Briceni and Camenca, while in Soroca the layer of snow measures 5 cm. In central Moldova, this measures 42-57 cm, while in the southern districts 23-40 cm.
The data show the situation only at the 18 meteorological stations existing in Moldova. The layers of snow in parts could be thicker, especially where there are snowdrifts.
Rain is forecast for April 22. It wil grow warmer towards the end of next week, when temperatures will oscillate around 20 degrees Celsius.
The orange code warning for heavy snowfalls was extended until the coming night. The yellow code advisory for frost covers the period until April 24.
