Thermoelectric plants will return crude oil into state reserves according to new schedule
The Government modified the schedule according to which the thermoelectric plants (CETs) give back the crude oil borrowed from the Agency for Material Reserves, Public Acquisition and Humanitarian Aid, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said that owing to the difficult financial situation these plants could not return the fuel oil freed from the states reserves by the December 31, 2009 deadline.
Under the new schedule, the Chisinau-based CET-1 must give back the oil by March 31, 2010, the Chisinau-based CET-2 – 1,000 tonnes by March 31, 2010, by 2,200 tonnes by December 31, 2011, 2012 and 2013, while the rest by December 31, 2014. The Balti-based CET-Nord will return 700 tonnes of oil by March 31, 2010, 350 tonnes by December 31, 2010, while the rest by December 31, 2011.
In accordance with the law on the state reserves, the companies that do not stick to the agreed schedule are penalized 1 – 1.5% of the borrowed goods' value.
