SA Moldovagaz informed that the largest natural gas consumers and the thermoelectric companies have historical debts of over 1.75 billion lei to it, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from SA Moldovagaz, the level of payments for the gas supplied last January-August to the thermoelectric plans SA CET-1, SA CET- 2, and SA CET-NORD didn’t exceed 70% on September 20. Besides current debts, the companies also have historical debts to the gas distributor: SA CET-1 – 358 million lei, SA CET-2 – 1.13 billion lei, SA CET-NORD – 89 million lei, while SA Termocom – 168 million lei.

Compared with the corresponding period last year, the level of payments made by the thermoelectric companies fell by 15%. SA Moldovagaz said the non-observance by the given companies of the contract conditions negatively influence its financial-economic situation. Besides, Gazprom imposes penalties on it for the late and incomplete payment of the gas bills.
