Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said there were a number of reasons for discharging the chief architect of Chisinau Vladimir Modarca. “The retirement age wasn’t necessarily a reason. Mister Tarna for example has not reached retirement. There are different situations. Some of the persons of retirement age can continue work, while others can be dismissed before approaching retirement,” Dorin Chirtoaca told the press during an event, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The mayor said that while in office Vlad Modarca took a number of decisions with which he did not agree. Dorin Chirtoaca did not rule out that other dismissals will follow. According to him, there are a number of methods of replacing the discharged functionaries and he will consider every possibility separately - to promote a person, to transfer a person or to hold a contest. As to the dismissal of the head of the Social Assistance Division Eugenia Ceban, the mayor said that the case is examined by the Chisinau Court of Appeals. “She filed an application to delay her dismissal several months ago. She has been trying to retire for half a year. She will retire at a certain moment. We will use other articles of the law as well,” he stated. Three division heads have been fired during a month. These are the head of the Administrative Division Nicolae Monastarli, the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceslav Tarna, and the head of the Architecture and Urbanism Division Vlad Modarca.
