The Republic of Moldova this week will receive 45,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses through the agency of the COVAX platform. As many as 416,800 COVID-19 vaccine doses are now available in Moldova and this means half of the doses delivered to Moldova were administered, epidemiologist of the National Public Health Agency Alexei Ceban told a news conference on June 1, being quoted by IPN.
According to Alexei Ceban, adverse events were recorded in 0.33% of the vaccination cases, with 94% of these being mild reactions, while 6% being adverse moderate reactions, such as fever higher than 38.5 degrees Celsius and allergic reactions.
A vaccination marathon similar to those staged in Chisinau will be held this week in Briceni.
National immunizations campaign coordinator Ninel Revenco called on the people not to wait for marathons to get a vaccine and to go to the family doctor or directly to a vaccination center or to make an appointment through www. vaccinare.gov.md. The pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers started to be immunized against COVID-19 last week.
Ninel Revenco said that in 14 days of the administration of the second dose, the Moldovans will be able to present the vaccine certificate at customs posts for travelling abroad.
The COVID-19 vaccination rate in Moldova is currently of 10% in the case of the first dose and of 2.2% in the case of both of the doses. The data include the Transnistrian region.
