There are no issues that cannot be settled in Moldo-Russian relations, officials
There are no issues in the Moldovan-Russian relations that cannot be settled, say the co-chairmen of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation. “We have agreed that by the end of May our colleagues from Russia will identify the locations of two customs checkpoints for the Moldovan wines, in addition to the existing one, said Economy Minister Valeriu Lazar, the co-chairman, after the complition of the Commission's meeting held in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Lazar said it was also agreed to facilitate the export of fruit and vegetables on the Russian market.
“We reviewed our commercial exchange activities and we found that they regressed. They were severely affected by the crisis in 2009. But it is important that we have reached the understanding that it is necessary to remove all the barriers and create conditions for the economic entities so that they can freely engage in trade activities and undertake mutually advantageous investment projects”.
Andrei Fursenko, Commission co-chairman on behalf of Russia, said he was pleased to find again a responsive environment in Moldova and described the protocol signed at the end of the Commission's meeting as a document with concrete actions, concrete executors and concrete deadlines.
Fursenko added Russia's promise concerning a $150m loan remains valid, on condition that Moldova presents investment projects where this money could be used. Lazar underlined that all the foreign funds will be indeed used for investment purposes, with the projects being prepared.
The next meeting of the Moldo-Russian Commission for Economic Cooperation
will be held in Moscow in 2011.
