The Moldovan software developer Ritlabs has announced an updated version of its flagship product – the mail client The Bat!, which now adds the label v7.1.8. According to the company, the new version makes the program more efficient for corporate purposes, has an improved interface and contains security updates that guarantee data integrity, IPN reports.
In a press release, the company says version 7.1.8 appears following user requests to streamline the mail client for corporate networks, and also due to a increased demand for secure mail solutions, in light of the recent lawsuit filed by Berkeley students against the giant Google.
“The updates offered in The Bat! v7.1.18 make it an even more effective tool for email management while providing users with security that protects their email content from third-party access, not offered with web-based email”, says Ritlabs.
In addition to multiple encryption, The Bat! ensures data integrity by avoiding global email providers and Web clients, with messages being stored on the user's computer, and not in a cloud where they are exposed to third-party interference. The Bat! can process and store an unlimited number of messages and has no restriction on the number of email accounts per user.
To facilitate corporate correspondence, the new version offers contact management in Exchange accounts, allowing for thousands of corporate network contacts to be downloaded and imported into the Exchange Web Services (EWS) address book.
Additional features offered with the new version include a more user-friendly interface, the ability to sort messages by display name in the message list, improved contact searches on LDAP servers, and other.
According to the press release, The Bat! Home Edition comes with a price tag of 450 lei. The Bat! v7 Professional Edition, the portable version included, costs 900 lei.
