The Youth Organization of the “Our Moldova Alliance” Party considers the introduction of the integrated history course as malefic

A declaration of the Youth Organization released this week states that the Executive Bureau of the Youth Organization of the “Our Moldova Alliance” Party (YO OMA) qualified the introduction by the Ministry of Education and Youth of the Republic of Moldova of the integrated history course, and especially of the textbooks that come along with it, as a solely destructive action. YO OMA draws the public opinion’s attention that through this gesture the mentioned ministry ignored and disregarded the opinion of the specialists in the matter, of the teachers, of the pupils, of parents, and of the whole civil society. YO OMA members believe the books contain numerous historical forgeries of Stalinist nature, unmotivated blames towards Romania, as well soviet and communist type propaganda. Not only does this fact create tension within our society, but also have a long term impact - xenophobia, creation of dogmas, ethnic degradation of the population, and hampers the normal development of future generation, the declaration states. The Youth Organization of the “Our Moldova Alliance” Party has declared solidarity with those that are against this course from the Republic of Moldova schools and the intoxicating books, and demand the removal of these. Previously the Historians Association has requested the removal until October 1 of the integrated history course and the comeback to the old 2 courses – Romanian History and Universal History.
