The Territorial Office of the Government’s Administration requested from the Municipality Council of Chisinau to abrogate the decision from the 20 January “Regarding the removing of Mihai Furtuna from the post of Chisinau municipality Vice-Mayor”. A decision project regarding the annulment of the decision is included in the program of the Municipality Council meeting that will take place on Thursday, 13th of April. The Juridical Department of the Mayoralty that examined the proposal considers that the dismissal of Mihai Furtuna is violating the legislation, namely the art. 86(2), art. 87(1) and art. 210 of the Labour Code, because Furtuna was on a sick leave. According to the art.86 (2), “it is prohibited to dismiss an employee during his sick leave”. The Juridical Department considers the proposal of the Territorial Office of the Governments Administration well founded and requests its fulfilment. The Vice-Mayor, Mihai Furtuna was dismissed in January because of the initiative of the communist councillors. They were unpleased of the way the municipality budget project for this year was prepared and the way it was presented for approbation in the final reading. Mihai Furtuna, dismissed with the votes of 31 communist, Christian-democratic and independent councillors, denied the accusations and declared at that time that the decision was politically charged.
