A campaign called “Adevarul” (the Truth), launched a month ago by the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), has reached 750 Moldovan localities. Over 80,000 citizens have been informed by young Liberal Democrats about the April events. They drew a partial balance sheet on July 25, in Chisinau’s downtown, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the PLDM’s Youth Organization, the Adevarul Campaign pursued to realize the events having occurred in Moldova after the April 5 elections, especially the arrests, ill-treatments and torture the young men were subjected to, as four of them died. “We planned to reach all the Moldovan population and tell them Moldova has got one more chance. It was very hard, because we were aggressed in many localities, electricity used to be switched off when we came, while the police used to conduct themselves in an uncivilized manner,” said George Mocanu, the president of the Youth Organization. He says they encountered most obstructions in Cahul, Anenii Noi, Cantemir and Soroca districts. “We notified the Central Election Commission.” Mihaela Spataru, a young PLDM member, considers the campaign has been a success because they have succeeded to replace the “pro-Communist” public television with another information source – the mobile television. The young Liberal Democrats say they won’t stop and will unfold the drive for two more days.
