The Swiss Government invests in strengthening Emergency Medical care in Moldova

Emergency and rehabilitation services for stroke patients, as well as other medical conditions, will be improved with the support of Swiss partners. The Swiss Government will allocate 8.3 million Swiss Francs in non-reimbursable financial assistance to strengthen emergency medical care in the Republic of Moldova. A memorandum of understanding outlining this support was signed on Friday, January 31, between the Ministry of Health and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, IPN reports.

The project aims to strengthen essential emergency care services, a component implemented by the World Health Organization. Another component focuses on modernizing rehabilitation services, implemented by the World Bank.

The project will be implemented between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2028.

Switzerland has played a crucial role in improving emergency medical care in Moldova, particularly in equipping the national network of stroke treatment centers. The new project aims to continue these efforts, as highlighted by the Ministry of Health.
