“The Right” urges government to invite Romanian anticorruption experts to Moldova

The initiative group for creating the political party “The Right” says corruption is the biggest problem of Moldova and urges the government to invite anticorruption specialists from Romania. Ex-MP Ana Gutu, who is a member of the initiative group, in a news conference at IPN said not accidentally Moldovan citizens and experts as well as Romanian MEP Monica Macovei used in their speeches the formula “DNA” (National Anticorruption Directorate of Romania – e.n.) crosses the Prut!”.

According to Ana Gutu, the decision to form a new party was taken last week, but the idea appeared several months ago. The new party aims to reunify the two Romanian states, Moldova and Romania. For this to happen, Moldova must change its face, first of all by rooting out corruption. In this connection, Parliament is requested to name prosecutors from Romania in the administration of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The Government is asked to invite anticorruption experts from the DNA, who would work at the National Anticorruption Center of Moldova. President Nicolae Timofti is requested to grant these prosecutors and specialists the Moldovan nationality as a matter of urgency.

The initiative group for creating the political party “The Right” insists on the dismissal of the administration of the National Bank and on the constitution of another Administration Board that would include Romanian specialists who would help in the process of liquidating the three problematic banks - Banca de Economii, Banca Sociala and Unibank. Parliament is asked to adopt a package of laws on bank ownership transparency. Ana Gutu is convinced that without these minimal actions, the Republic of Moldova will go towards an economic and social collapse.

Another member of the initiative group, former minister of the environment Gheorghe Salaru read the manifesto of the future party, which says that “The Right” is a patriotic, not nationalist party that honors the freedom and responsibility and that wants a free economy. It aims to combat corruption and robbery and is oriented to the West.

“The Right” also suggests instituting a control and verification mechanism, in relation to the EU, similar to that of Romania. The party aims to promote the Romanian and European values in Moldova, saying the external danger to the country comes from the East.

The initiative group is to soon launch the procedures for registering the new party by collecting signatures and organizing a congress. It will afterward submit the necessary documents to the Ministry of Justice.
