The unionist party The Right calls upon President-elect Igor Dodon to leave unionism and the unionists in peace. Members of the party consider Dodon’s intentions to ban unionism represents crass neglect of Moldova’s history, IPN reports.
“Banning unionism and persecuting the unionists mean returning to the disreputable Stalinist behavior as a result of which thousands of people from Bessarabia suffered famine, were deported and killed in the cells of the NKVD of the Soviet occupation period,” said members of the party.
The Right reproaches the President-elect for freely supporting and encouraging the separatist aspirations of the Gagauz people and the people from the left side of the Nistru and for intensely promoting the federalization of the Republic of Moldova.
The members of the party also urge Igor Dodon to leave populism aside and to focus on things that are useful for society.
