The Council of Rectors of the Republic of Moldova encourages the academic community to participate in the presidential elections on November 3 to freely express their choice regarding the support and development of the reforms initiated in the fields of education and research. "Our common aspiration is to become active members of the European education and research area," reads a statement from the Council, IPN reports.
Higher education institutions in Moldova reiterate the need for investment in education and research as essential fields to ensure the country's sustainable development and to promote social cohesion, as well as the values and principles on which the European Union is based. "The Council of Rectors of the Republic of Moldova declares its support for Moldova's European path and expresses gratitude to the European Union for its unconditional support in aligning study programs and research activities to the highest quality standards," the statement said.
The Council emphasized that future efforts will focus on promoting the quality of education, research, and lifelong learning, investing in programs for the development of teaching and scientific staff, creating motivating and safe learning environments for students, and developing professional skills that meet the current and future needs of the labor market.
The joint meeting of the Councils of Rectors from Romania and the Republic of Moldova on September 13 confirmed the common commitment to strengthen inter-institutional relations and support the integration of Moldovan universities into the European academic environment through the adoption of a resolution at a joint session held in Chișinău.
