Premier Vasile Tarlev is urging the community to actively take part in drafting the National Strategy for Sustainable Agricultural Development. The public will be consulted in the first decade of September at a meeting of the Premier and representatives of the society. Vasile Tarlev made this appeal at a working meeting with decision makers on the implementation of measures for drafting the mentioned strategy. Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Anatolie Gorodenco, said that the working group that will work out the document has been set up and the activity program for implementing the strategy approved. The Premier mentioned that although Moldova has drafted and implemented a number branch programs, the new strategy has a specific character as it will be a generalization document, the European countries’ experience in the field will be considered, the community and the scientists will be consulted, so as to create a medium and long-term pragmatic, complex, real and unique program for agriculture development. The Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to provide the working group with all the information on the strategies in the mentioned area of all the states that have recently joined the European Union and to assist it, if necessary, in drafting the strategy.
