The parliamentary elections will decide Moldova's fate for many years: PL – PLDM – AMN

The Liberal Party(PL), the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and Our Moldova Alliance (AMN) addressed an appeal to their supporters on July 21 to mobilize the voters with democratic visions to participate in the early parliamentary elections of July 29. “If any opposition backer manages to persuade at least one person not to vote with the Communists (PCRM), our victory is guaranteed,” reads their appeal quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “We would like that the year 2009 should become a year of fundamentally changing Moldova's political and social-economic life. We must not wait for other rescuers. The rescuers this time are those three parties – PL, PLDM and AMN,” PL leader Mihai Ghimpu told a news conference. The PLDM's president Vlad Filat has said that at rallies with supporters in the country, they ask to be free and live in a prosperous state. “These elections are not just for the political parties, it's important to realize that any vote counts,” Vlad Filat said. Serafim Urecheanu, the AMN leader, assures the voters that those three Liberal parties commit to rule Moldova after July 30, “in the disastrous conditions that the Communists have made during eight years of rule.” The three opposition leaders rule out a possible coalition with the Communists and with the Democratic Party (PDM) in the future parliament. According to a recent opinion poll, the PDM has chances to enter the legislature after the July 29 poll. “I don't want that this state is run by people that are or have been members of the PCRM,” Mihai Ghimpu said, and Filat added that “a person representing the interests of every citizen from this state must be Moldova's next president.” The PL leader has remarked that “in a parliamentary country, it's not the presidency but the parliament which matters, as it's the parliament which is accountable for the prosecutor's office, government and media we'll have.” Those three politicians avoided answering how they planned to share the main offices in the state. “We discuss all the problems in our coalition, we have the solutions that we'll disclose them at the right moment, because we're responsible parties,” Serafim Urecheanu said. The PL, PLDM and AMN run with separate lists of candidates in this race and vowed not to attack each other and to cooperate.
