The mother of the 13-year-old boy from Bubuieci, who died at the Institute of Mother and Child (IMC), has filed a police complaint. The boy's relatives claim that he was the victim of bullying at school and accuse the medical institutions where the child was hospitalized of negligence, IPN reports.
"A complaint was filed with the Ciocana Police Inspectorate. The content of the complaint cannot be disclosed, referring only to the subjects of this complaint," Cristina Talpă, press officer of the capital's police, told IPN.
The ombudsman for children's rights commented on the case: "Every child has the right to the best possible conditions for the development and maintenance of his or her physical and mental health," reads a statement issued by the Office of the Ombudsman.
The 13-year-old boy with a leg trauma was initially treated at the "Valentin Ignatenco" Municipal Children's Clinical Hospital. He was later transferred in serious condition to the Institute of Mother and Child, where he died last week on February 25.
