The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian Government to take measures to increase exports of agricultural products from the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, IPN reports, with reference to RIA Novosti. The decision is dictated by the wish to stabilize the prices of these products, said the source.
The order that was published on the website of the Kremlin instructs the Government of the Russian Federation to take measures to increase imports into Russia of agricultural products from the CIS member states as part of the actions to stabilize food prices.
“The Antimonopoly Service of Russia will ensure the monitoring of the formation of food prices in retail chains,” says the order, noting the first execution report will be presented until September 1, while the next reports each quarter.
Earlier, Russia imposed a number of restrictions and bans on Moldovan products so that the exports from the Republic of Moldova were reoriented to other markets, primarily the European Union. The Transnistrian region that is not controlled by the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova, but is massively supported by the Russian Federation exports more to the EU than to Russia.
