Every day of electricity purchases for Moldova is a challenge for the authorities, as the right bank of the Nistru is no longer supplied with electricity by the Kuchurgan power plant, IPN reports.
"The situation is unprecedented for everyone," said Alexandru Slusari, the civil society’s representative at Energocom. In a post on social media, the expert assures that "the team is on site all day, working synchronously and efficiently."
He noted that there will be no shortage of electricity on Thursday and the price will be reasonable. "The hard part only starts after January 8. I hope that by then the Government will come up with the support plan for economic agents and the population," warned Slusari.
Energocom announced that the power consumption for the first two days of 2025 is fully covered.
The Government, within which the crisis cell was set up for the period of the state of emergency, on January 1 said that no emergency contracts were necessary and that the situation is stable in the natural gas and thermal energy sectors these days, without major incidents.
However, the Transnistrian region remained without gas on January 1 and, because of this, the population no longer receives either heat or hot water.
On the left bank of the Nistru, a state of emergency was declared for a period of 20 days. The administration in Tiraspol accused Chisinau of the crisis, while the Moldovan authorities accused the Kremlin of energy blackmail carried out through the agency of Gazprom.
