The first edition of the Ethnic Communities Gala was held in Chisinau

Each ethnic group and culture is part of a mosaic that makes the Republic of Moldova richer and more beautiful. In Moldova each ethnic group preserves and develops its traditions, enriching the common culture and contributing to strengthening friendships and mutual understanding among all citizens. This is the message launched by the Head of State, Maia Sandu, at the first edition of the Ethnic Communities Gala, held in Chisinau. The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of people who contribute to the development of intercultural dialog and the strengthening of interethnic relations in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

"The Moldova we all want is a Moldova of all, where every citizen is respected and can plan a future at home, regardless of their roots, the language they speak or the religion they share. At the Ethnic Communities Gala we celebrated the beauty and diversity of Moldovan people, as well as the unity in our country, which we have a duty to preserve and cherishˮ, said Maia Sandu.

The Head of State reiterated that Moldova is a country rich in traditions, cultures and languages, where it is possible to live together. "We are grateful to all those who, day by day, work for harmony between people and better dialog between communities, so that we all can live in peace and understandingˮ, the President said.

At the Ethnic Communities Gala 33 individuals/organizations from various spheres of social, cultural and professional life were awarded for their outstanding involvement in society.
