The Economic Council of CIS Promises to Endorse Solving Moldovan-Russian Crisis
The commission for economic problems of the economic council of CIS will elaborate proposals for overcoming the created situation after Russia banned the wine exports from Moldova. The proposals will be formulated at the end of the examination process of the information presented by the Republic of Moldova at the meeting of the economic council on April 28, called at the request of Chisinau.
In the information presented by the minister of Economy and Commerce, Valeriu Lazar, is said that because of the imposed embargo, Russia violated a series of agreements that function within CIS, writes the Russian press.
Lazar specified that the Russian side broke the agreement regarding the joint actions in the case of sanitary-hygienic evaluation of the products that could be dangerous for the citizens of a CIS member country.
According to him, the Russia’s decision to stop the wine imports also violates the stipulations of the commercial-economic collaboration agreement and also of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental agreement on free trade.
In spite of these arguments, the Russian Federation refuses for the moment the mutual negotiations upon overcoming the crisis.
