The decision of the Venice Commission on the justice reform project will become known on October 11th. The statement belongs to the President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon. According to him, the Commission has some questions concerning this project. At the same time, the president says that the representatives of the ruling coalition have the political will to go further as regards the justice reform. The statement was made on "Fourth Power" program, on N4, IPN reports.
"I understand there are some questions. We have the political will to go further," said the head of state.
As for the reform of the Prosecutor's Office, which has already entered into force, according to him, there are some constitutional issues. "But I think we can overcome them and move forward because if we do not change the state of affairs in the Prosecutor's Office ... sabotage occurs there," the president said.
At the same time, Igor Dodon says that as far as the Government is concerned, the Socialists will not support tax increases and other measures in the fiscal and budgetary policy affecting the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. "Moreover, we will insist on the social block. There are initiatives of the president that have been put forward - regarding retirement, winter period aid and we will insist on these laws and we have shown where we can find resources. And we tell our partners very clearly that the alliance means consensus and compromise on both sides,” said Igor Dodon.
Igor Dodon has also stated on this subject that there is a draft Agreement with the Russian Federation envisaging that Moldovan citizens legally working on the territory of Russia can benefit from pensions when they return home and reach retirement age. "There is an agreement, but there are also 2-3 elements that have to be developed. The previous government was categorically opposed. Now the Vice-Chairman of the Moldovan-Russian Joint Commission is Vasile Șova, who has practically reached a consensus with all the structures. I would like to have it signed by the end of the year,” the president said.
