Territorial-administrative units will get by about one billion lei more to level up budgets

The territorial-administrative units in 2008 will receive 2.718,5 billion lei from the states budget to level up the financial possibilities of the local budgets. This sum is by 966.3 million lei or 55.1% larger than this year’s. Minister of Finance Mihai Pop said that the transfers from the state budget will be raised with the aim of compensating for the uncollected revenues after the zero rate tax on the reinvested profit coming from entrepreneurial activity will be introduced on January 1, 2008 and as a result of the rise in the average spending per capita. The size of the transfers was fixed according to common criteria for all the budgets of the territorial-administrative units, including the average expenses per inhabitant calculated by correlating the number of stable population and the demographic structure of the district. Besides the expenditure planned in their own budgets, the territorial-administrative units will be allocated 143.4 million lei from the state budget for investment, repair and public procurement, by selecting the facilities of major importance, which are close to completion and can be put in commission. For the first time, the state budget for 2008 includes resources worth 130 million lei that will be transferred to the National Regional Development Fund.
