Starting with 2016, the inhabitants of Chisinau will have hot water uninterruptedly, throughout the year. SA “Termoelectrica” decided to give up the annual practice of halting the supply of hot water through the centralized system for a month. The announcement was made by “Termoelectrica” director Veaceslav Eni on June 16, when presenting a report on the work done during the first year of the company’s foundation, IPN reports.
Veaceslav Eni told a news conference that the supply of hot water during 12 months a year is a novelty for the residents of Chisinau. This service will be ensured with additional equipment. “Starting with July 10, we will disconnect the consumers from the system, but the service will be provided with other equipment and the consumers will not feel the absence of hot water,” he stated.
Speaking about the first year of work, the director of “Termoelectrica” said the stopping of the accumulation of new debts to “Moldovagaz” was one of the biggest accomplishments. “The debt to “Moldovagaz” was reduced by about 140 million lei,” he noted.
According to Veaceslav Eni, the company ended the year with losses of about 361 million lei, which is by approximately 400 million lei less than in 2014. “We hope to end the year 2016 without losses or even with profit by doing assiduous work and by optimizing and cutting costs,” he said.
Attending the event, Deputy Minister of Economy Valeriu Triboi said that during the first year of work, the company achieved a big result – the thermoelectric plant based in Ciocana was put into operation. “We have a new main with pre-isolated pipes that is energy efficient. We have a modern, automated pumping station. I think it is the best in the region, not only in the Republic of Moldova,” he stated.
The representative of the World Bank Office in Moldova Sandu Ghidirim said the results obtained by the company show that the merger of the two generation sources and one distribution source was a correct step. “We hope that the objectives set within the reforms and the project supported by the World Bank will be achieved so as to enable us, by concerted effort, to continue the reform in this sector and the so necessary investment,” he stated.
“Termoelectrica” was founded a year ago by merging the heat supplier “Termocom” and the thermoelectric plants “CET-1” and “CET-2”.
