The modernizations proposed by the heat supplier Termoelectrica to the heating system can help reduce the heat bills by about 30%, Deputy Minister of Economy Valeriu Triboi and Termoelectrica director general Veaceslav Eni stated in a news conference, IPN reports.
The modernization works are performed within the project “Improvement of the Efficiency of the Centralized Heating System” for which the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development lent €3.4 million. Within the project, Individual Thermal Points will be set up for supplying heat and heating water in 124 apartment buildings and 34 administrative buildings in Chisinau, which are connected to the centralized heating system. The chosen blocks are situated in two areas of Chisinau municipality that have the worst hydraulic systems, near the West and South thermal plants.
Valeriu Triboi said the creation of Termoelectrica by merging Termocom and the thermoelectric plants CETs helped consolidate the heating system. At world level, the centralized heating system is the best heating solution.
So far, Termoelectrica and the Association of Condominium Crowners No. 51/417 located on Pandurilor St have signed a cooperation contract for the installation of the horizontal heating system for five apartment buildings. The project implemented on Pandurilor St is an example of energy performance and cooperation between dwellers and the heat supplier. The heat bills of those who use the horizontal heating system on Pandurilor St are by 30% lower, stated the deputy minister.
For his part, Veaceslav Eni voiced hope that more buildings will follow this example. “Only by concerted effort, can the apartment buildings in Chisinau benefit from a more efficient heating system at optimal costs,” he said.
To be connected to the new heating system, all the dwellers from a stair should agree to switch over to the horizontal heating system. Termoelectrica covers the costs associated with the installation of Individual Thermal Points, horizontal system and meters, while the dwellers pay for the connection of each apartment.
In 2016, Termoelectrica started to promote the horizontal heating system, with the installation of individual thermal points and meters in the stair of the building.
