Owing to the modern technologies, the disconnection from the heating system can be now performed during at most an hour, director general of SA “Termoelectrica” Veaceslav Eni stated in a news conference on April 3, in connection with acting mayor Silvia Radu’s order to close the heating system in Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.
“Owing to the modern meters installed in the basement of each apartment building, the block manager can stop the supply of heat without waiting for the representatives of “Termoelectrica”. Before closing the meter, they should only phone the representatives of the heat supplier in the district and inform them about this,” stated Veaceslav Eni.
According to the director, the company continues to supply heat to hospitals, schools and kindergartens. “For now, we haven’t stopped the supply of heat to the public institutions managed by the Chisinau City Hall, especially kindergartens, schools and hospitals. They are to decide if they still need heat. We are ready to supply heat round-the-clock even by summer,” stated Veaceslav Eni.
If the dwellers in the housing sector also want to be further supplied with heat, they can request the block manager to disconnect the heat during the day, when it is warm outside, and to reconnect it in the evening, explained the company’s director.
“Termoelectrica” supplies heat to over 5,650 buildings, 590 of which are budget-funded institutions, 820 business entities and 210,000 apartments in about 3,880 blocks in Chisinau municipality.
Under the order signed by acting mayor general Silvia Radu on April 2, the apartment building managers can ask to stop the supply of heat after they consult the block dwellers. The medical, social and education institutions will be disconnected from the heat supply only after they coordinate the move with the competent divisions. The consumers will continue to be supplied with hot water.
