Termoelectrica announces completion of a number of modernization projects

Termoelectrica in 2021 completed an investment program to the value of about 551.3 million lei that was financed with own funds after being approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation. According to the company’s director general Veaceslav Eni, the implemented projects enabled to modernize infrastructure, to improve the quality of heating services provided to consumers and to increase the efficiency and reliability of energy infrastructure. For the implemented actions, Termoelectrica was awarded the Golden Mercury trophy and the Quality Goddess statute at the Moldovan Business Gala, IPN reports.

According to Termoelectrica, this year’s investments of the company centered on the modernization of three pumping stations (SP-4, SP-6, SP-22). This investment will enable to significantly improve the provided services for about 75,000 consumers in Botanica and Râșcani districts of Chisinau and to reduce the own electricity consumption of these stations by about 20% a year.

There were extensively repaired 37 heat pipe sections with a total length of about 13.5 km and thermally insulated over 7.5 km of underground heat pipes. The equipment of the thermoelectric plant CET Source I was maintained and repaired. The installed new pieces of equipment will enable to diminish power consumption by about 20% and to increase reliability.

This year, Termoelectrica also modernized the gas flue at heating station CT Vest and improved the electricity and heat production capacity (cogeneration) at the thermoelectric plant CET Source II and heat production at CT Vest and CT Sud, rehabilitating the equipment at the central heating points and manholes.

There was built the first Biomass Thermal Power Plant in the framework of the project “Integration of energy plant Miscanthus into heat production process at centralized heating systems” that was implemented in partnership with the Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection (IGFPP) and the National Research and Development Agency.  The 150 kW Plant enables to ensure thermal comfort at IGFPP (end user of centralized heating system of Chisinau).

Termoelectrica noted that in the course of 2021 it signed 13 partnership contracts for connection to the centralized heating system and connected ten new consumers. It also conducted the traditional campaign “Pay in Winter to be Rewarded in Summer” as part of which the most responsible consumers are annually awarded by having their heating installations washed and tested for pressure before the cold season. The company offered 20 free heating and hot water certificates for December 2021 as part of the traditional draw “Termoelectrica Awards Heat” that is staged on the Patron Saint Day of Chisinau.
