Termoelectrica and CET-Nord to get 260m lei subsidies in advice

The joint stock companies “Termoelectrica” and “CET-Nord” will get an advance of 260 million lei in subsidies for heat bills for February-March. The Commission for Exceptional Situations decided that the given amount will be allocated from the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, IPN reports.

The authorities said the money will be provided for ensuring the liquidity needed by Termoelectrica to purchase crude oil (200m lei) and for covering the discrepancy recorder by CET-Nord (60m lei) in the winter season, based on operators’ projections.

The Commission also decided that the delivery of 3000 tonnes of sunflower groats for covering the shortage of solid biofuel in the current season at about 85 national public institutions will be exempted from VAT. The measure was taken to support the achievement of the national policy objectives regarding energy efficiency and to promote the use of renewable sources of energy.

Also, during the state of emergency, both the imported and exported electricity will be declared by the last date of the months coming after the given month.

The Commission specified that in the case of consumers with one gas meter for the block, in the calculation of subsidies there will be used the price set for users with high energy vulnerability, for a total monthly volume of 180 cubic meters per apartment, for November 2022 – March 2023.
