Termocom works normally despite financial woes

During the past holidays the municipal heat and hot water utility Termocom hasn't registered any major failure and has provided warmth to Chisinau homes according to quality standards, even if the company faces the risk of bankruptcy, stated Mihail Cernei, the utility's director, at the ordinary meeting of the City Hall today. Mihail Cernei noted that the temperature of the supplied heat was 65 degrees at the input point and 45 degrees at the output point. He further recalled that the company owed a total 63 million lei to its debtors and the deadline was due to expire on February 5. According to him, the only solution is to obtain a rescheduling. “I think someone is looking to push the company into bankruptcy in some sort of a raider attack. Because of some older debts accrued until 2001, we are running the risk of losing a company that has been working normally for 3 years now”, stated Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. Under a court decision, Termocom's management has to pay off 63 million lei to its debtors until February 5 unless it wants to lose the company to the latter. Earlier the Government approved a resolution merging Termocom with the cogeneration utilities CET-1 and CET-2.
