Termocom warns that more than 100 blocks of flats might have no access to central heating this winter

SA Termocom warns that more than 100 blocks of flats in the capital city might have no access to central heating this winter due to the existing debt. Currently, the total debt of consumers on provided thermal energy is 487 million lei, while the debts for the capital’s housing sector is of an approximate 379 million lei. Of 200 blocks with the highest sum of debt, the management of 92 blocks has paid so far part of the existing debt to the heat supplier, with the promise to pay the rest of the sum in several instalments. Five blocks of flats have already been disconnected from the heating system. The heat supplier states that disconnections from the network will continue this week. Among debtors, with a payment rate lower than 70%, risking to be disconnected from central heating are 10 blocks in Ciocana district, 7 – in Centru, 44 – in Rascani, 12 – Botanica, 26 – in Buiucani. The management of SA Termocom states that although disconnections are taking place right ahead of winter, this is the only method which would allow consumers to become aware of the necessity to pay off all the accumulated debt.
