SA Termocom and the municipal services are preparing special regulations that will specify the steps that will be taken against those that do not pay for the heat, Termocom commercial director Mihai Arusoi said at the meeting of the Chisinau services and subdivisions on Monday, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to Arusoi, the level of payments for heat before the start of the heating season was higher. After the apartment buildings were connected to the heat supply, the level decreased. In this connection, the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that the steps taken against the consumers in debt must not affect those that pay the bills regularly. “Until present, the apartment buildings in debt were disconnected from the heat supply. The new regulations should contain strict punishments only for the consumers in debt,” the mayor said. Dorin Chirtoaca also said that the persons who have money, but do not want to pay must be held accountable. Debt rescheduling timetables must be drawn up for those that cannot pay. All the 2,700 apartment buildings existing in the municipality of Chisinau have been connected to the heat supply, regardless of the level of payments for heat.
