The capital’s inhabitants should keep the city clean and not litter the streets and recreation spaces. The call comes from Termocom employees who participated in a cleanup of the Bic River valley organized by the City Hall on Saturday, Info-Prim Neo reports. The company staff took care of the region between the Ismail bridge and the Meat Factory. About 500 workers participated. “We clean up after those who littered. We must do some cleaning to have a clean city. People that litter should think if they would like to live in a dumps. It’s important that all inhabitants of the capital and visitors don’t throw packs, bags and other litter in the street. There are trash bins for this”, said Termocom general director Mihail Cernei. The company’s commercial director Mihai Arusoi said that Termocom employees gathered for the cleanup at 8 AM and managed to collect several trucks of trash. Most of it comes from those who sell construction materials from their cars on the roadside. “This is our culture, the Moldovans’. We will collect more trash in the next actions organized by the City Hall and its structures. The Termocom staff is having a bit of a break after the end of the heating seasons, but are preparing to provide people with hot water during spring, summer and fall and heating in winter”, said Mihai Arusoi. Valentina Serbac, department chief at the company, said that the work was going well, but there was too much litter. The Bic valley is very dirty, full of bags, packages and broken glass that can hurt anyone. “I urge the inhabitants of the capital not to litter and keep the city clean. We must be an example for future generations. If people want European integration, they must take the Europeans’ example. Our people are hardworking people. If they had a bit more culture, it would be great”, said Valentina Serbac. The cleanup is part of the “Hai, Chisinau” campaign organized by the City Hall. The campaign will culminate with a large-scale action on March 31.
