Termocom seeks 9.5% increase in heat charge
SA Termocom will request the national energy regulator ANRE to raise the heat charge by 9.6%. Earlier, it demanded that the charge be increased by about 12%. If the heat supplier’s request is granted, the end-users will pay 900 lei per gigacalorie, as against 821 lei at present, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Termocom director Mihai Cernei Monday said the rise in the heat charge in inevitable following the increase in the tariffs on the electricity and heat supplied by the thermoelectric plans (CETs). The tariff for CET-2, which supplies 80% of the heat used by Chisinau municipality, was raised by 18%. “Termocom may become insolvent if the charge is not increased,” said Mihai Cernei.
He also said that Moldovagaz blocked the company’s accounts with 20 million lei in them owing to older debts dating from 2007. Under such conditions, Termocom cannot pay salaries to employees and for the electric power supplied to it in December-January. In order to overcome the difficulties, Termocom is ready to sign a new memorandum to reschedule the debts.
In Balti municipality, the population pays 988 lei per gigacalorie of heat. The charge was raised from 911 lei after the price of gas went up.
