Termocom says level of payments for heat too low
The population's debts for heat to SA Termocom exceed 200 million lei and the heat supplier demands that the payments be made by the next heating season, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the commercial director of the company Mihai Arusoi, the level of payments for heat is 55%. The housing stock paid only 48% of the invoiced sums. Last year, this figure was 77.8%.
“The legislation allows paying for the heat throughout the year and we insist that the population should make the payments at the expected time. We need money to prepare the heating system for the new season,” Mihai Arusoi said at Monday's meeting of the City Hall.
He also said that the company will fulfill its obligations and will supply heat until the average temperature will be plus 8 degrees during three consecutive days.
Though the population receives compensations, they do not hurry to pay for the heat as they consider that the sums indicated in the bills are too high. “The sum in the bill is equal to my pension. On what money shall I live if I pay the bill?” asked Maria Topala, a pensioner living in Chisinau's Ciocana district.
“I will not pay the bill fully now as I can do it by October, in accordance with the law. I will pay by a small sum every month,” said Vasile Rotaru, driver for a commercial organization.
Mihai Arusoi said Termocom started to work with the persons who have large debts for heat. He called on the municipal companies that manage the housing stock to take steps and increase the level of payments. Those who have debts of over 300 lei will be sued.
