Termocom promises to heat radiators in all Chisinau homes within 10 days
Chisinau’s main heat supplier Termocom SA promises to finish connecting consumers throughout Chisinau to the centralised heating system within ten days.
So far, some 1,000 apartment houses out of 2,800 blocks benefiting from district heating in Chisinau have been connected to the system. Whereas most of the kindergartens in the capital (96 percent) were already connected, heat is still expected in 48 out of 164 schools and 38 out of 59 medical establishments.
The connection rate is the highest among the apartment houses administrated by the Municipal Enterprises for Housing Sector Management – 51 percent. Between 5 and 16 percent are the shares of the blocks administrated by Construction Co-operatives and Associations of Privatised Dwelling Owners.
Termocom general director Mihai Arusoi said the process of connecting the blocks to the centralised system was finished later this year because over the past week the air temperature stayed relatively high. This was the reason why many block administrators refused to get connected even though they had no debts and the technical condition of the piping system inside the block was okay.
Arusoi stated that this week centralised heat will be chiefly provided to the blocks that paid at least 80 percent of the debts or reached a debt rescheduling agreement with Termocom.
In his words, 6 blocks that paid less than half of the debts are still in a problematic situation. The heat supplier and the city authorities will have to come up with a solution after examining the cause of the low payment rates.
