Termocom inspector 'threatened' by debtors

An inspector from the heat and hot water utility Termocom was allegedly insulted and threatened with beating by a group of residents in a Ciocana apartment building, the utility said in a press release. The communique says that after the inspector visited a number of apartments which are overdue on their heat bills and negotiated rescheduling plans, a person who owes 7,000 lei to the utility confronted the inspector, insulting him and accusing him of “political schemes”. Shortly, other residents joined the argument, threatening the inspector with beating. The police intervened and settled the conflict. The utility remarked in the press release that “beating and insult are not a solution to settling overdue bills”.
