Termocom finishes works to prepare heat stations for new heating season

The Chisinau public utility SA Termocom completed the works to prepare the heat plants for the new heating season. Other works on heat pipes and networks will be finished by the end of September, when the supplier will be able to start the heating season, IPN reports.

First vice director of SA Termocom Vasile Leu Monday said that from technical viewpoint, the networks are ready for the heating season. Until now, the works to wash the pipes and to check the pressure in the blocks managed by housing stock companies have been 97% fulfilled. There were signed technical passports for 85% of the blocks. In the apartment buildings administered by associations of privatized dwelling owners, the works were 54% fulfilled and technical passports were issued to 24% of the blocks.

The situation is more difficult in the case of apartment buildings managed by homebuilding cooperatives that carried out the necessary works in only 59 of the buildings or at the level of 19%. Technical passports were signed for 1% of cooperatives’ blocks.

Vasile Leu also said that only 16,000 of the over 52,000 Chisinau apartments that have debts for heat agreed debt rescheduling timetables. More than 16,000 apartments with debts for heat were visited since September 10. There were filed over 7,000 cases over non-payment of debts to court.
