Termocom is calling on is customers in Chisinau to pay their overdue bills and thus make it possible for the utility to meet its debt-related commitments, Info-Prim Neo reports. A Memorandum signed on May 6 among Termocom, the gas supplier Moldovagaz, the steam utilities CET-1 and CET-2, the Chisinau City Hall and the Ministry of Economy enabled the former to have its bank accounts unfrozen. This allowed Termocom to start preparations for the 2011/2012 heating season. Termocom director Mihail Cernei told the City Hall's ordinary meeting on Monday that the customers' payment rate was 60%, which was exactly the rate of Termocom's payments to its suppliers. “We paid one hundred percent the gas bill. Until November 1, we are to settle the debt to CET 1 and CET 2, according to the schedule included in the Memorandum”, a spus Mihail Cernei. With its accounts unfrozen, Termocom has already fulfilled 10% of its 2011/2012 preparations plan. Termocom's accounts and assets were frozen as a security measure sought by the utility's creditors over historical debts of 1.5 billion lei accrued during 2002-2008.
