Terminal for Moldovan wine opens in Bryansk
Russia has officially notified the Moldovan authorities about the opening of a terminal in Bryansk which will process imports of Moldovan alcoholic beverages from Moldova, in particular wine.
The Government said in a press release this was possible following earlier understandings reached by Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Premier Dmitri Medvedev.
The decision to open the terminal becomes effective on October 12. The terminal in Bryansk will be the fourth of such facilities that can be used by Moldovan producers to export alcoholic beverages to Russia. Two terminals are operating in Moscow Oblast, and another wine in St. Petersburg.
Recently Gennady Onishchenko, Russia's chief sanitary inspector who once stated that Moldovan wine can only be used to paint fences, said that the quality of the wine has increased, praising the Moldovan authorities for the rigurous supervision of the sector.
