Term of procedure-plan for Termocom extended until end-September
The term for implementing the procedure-plan for SA Termocom was prolonged until the end of September. The procedure started to be carried out in 2002, after the company was declared insolvent, and was to close on February 5. The decision to extend this term was taken by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, the implementation of the restructuring plan did not produce the expected results. The term of the procedure-plan was extended several times. The initial term was five years. SA Termocom did not settle the debts of over 1 billion lei to the energy companies. Meanwhile, it accumulated new debts because the heat tariffs weren’t adjusted in time and they do not cover the real heat production costs.
On December 22, 2011, the Government adopted a decision on the corporate, institutional and financial restructuring of the centralized heating system in the municipality of Chisinau. It contains a number of measures, including the merger between the thermoelectric plants CET-1, CET- 2 and the heat supplier SA Termocom. In the period, the three companies will be inventoried and there will be taken other preparatory steps before starting the implementation of the new restructuring strategy.
