Tenth fair of Christmas presents opens in Chisinau

Those who didn’t yet manage to buy presents for the winter holidays can do it during the next nine days at the tenth Christmas Fair that opened at Moldexpo on December 21. The fair brought together 140 participants from Moldova, Romania, Montenegro, and India.

Contacted by IPN, Rodica Grigorita, manager of the 2013 Christmas Fair, said that this year the fair id divided thematically into two sections – food products and industrial products. An artistic program will be staged daily. “We have nine days of fair, which will be nine days of fairytale. The theaters “Licurici” and “Guguta” will present by a fairytale. Writer Spiridon Vangheli is the invitee of honor. Every day, artistic children’s groups will sign carols and will put up plays,” she stated.

The fair also includes demonstrations where the children will be able to learn to decorate Christmas biscuits and to make firs and toys by hand. Two monasteries from Montenegro and Ukraine exhibited religious items.

Last year, the Chrisman fair was visited by about 15,000 people. The organizers expect that the number of visitors will be as high this year.
