Tensions at JCC sitting

The minister of internal affairs of the self-proclaimed Transnistrian republic accuses the Moldovan part of intention to destabilize the situation in the security zone. Vadim Krasnoselsky launched the charges on Thursday, December 4, at the sitting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), invoking incidents occurring several days before near Dorotcaia village, when more militsia officers were not allowed to come to their jobs. In reply, Ion Solonenco, the JCC co-chairman from the Moldovan side, described the comments as biased and having a political nature, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The situation in the security zone, in my opinion, remains steady, and I think the Transnistrians may sleep in peace,” Serghei Gorlov, the JCC co-chairman from the Russian side, said. Vadim Krasnoselsky showed dissatisfaction with changing the number of police employees in Bender, from 100 to 250 . Anatoly Zverev, the senior military commander of the joint peace keeping forces from Russia, said that the parts need to cooperate in order to avoid smuggling weapons, munitions, drugs, and other banned things into the zone. On Thursday, the JCC members visited two posts of the peacekeeping forces, located in the Transnistrian region. Ion Solonenco said he is glad that the peace-keepers, regardless of their origin, get together better than the politicians. Ion Solonenco has specified that the Moldovan delegation stand for prolonging the treaties and settling all the problems in a peaceful way.
